25 RandomThings About Me
1.) One of my good friends in college is Angelina Jolie’s cousin. At the time she was like 12. Too bad we lost touch by the time she was famous.
2.) I was also friends with former senator Bob Packwood’s son in college—for those of you not old enough to remember, in the early 90s (maybe 1990) he had to resign for sexually harassing the women in his office—it was quite the scandal at the time.
3.) When I was in Beverly Hills with my husband having breakfast out I saw probably the best looking man I’ve ever seen in my life. After about 30 minutes I finally realized it was Rob Lowe!
4.) I partied with Kool in the Gang in Atlantic City the summer before my sophomore year of college. It was JT’s (lead singer) birthday.
5.) I love to cook, but cannot bake.
6.) There is not a food I don’t like.
7.) I hate roses and find them to be totally cliché.
8.) I find bald men very sexy (my husband was bald). Sometimes, when we were out, my hubby would catch me checking out another bald man.
9.) Fall is my favorite season of the year.
10.) My favorite band in the world is U2 and I would have left my husband for Bono.
11.) I won’t buy diamonds and wouldn't let my husband buy me diamonds because I am so disgusted by the DeBeers diamond Cartel and what has gone on in Africa.
12.) In relation to #11, I am very involved in Save Darfur, read anything I can on Post-Colonial Africa, and once wanted to take in one of the Lost Boys from Sierra Leone (John vetoed me). I have also watched Hotel Rwanda, The Constant Gardener, Blood Diamonds and The Last King of Scotland in a row (not very uplifting).
13.) I have never camped (and never plan to).
14.) I couldn’t care less about professional football, but LOVE college football—the games are better and the players play with a lot more heart (IMHO).
15.) Even though I went to a big football school (Penn State University), I never dated a football player, but dated quite a few soccer players.
16.) I was once a “band-aid”. If you’ve seen Almost Famous you’ll know what I mean. Basically it’s a step above a groupie because it’s about the music, too, not just screwing a musician.
17.) In relation to #16, I always dug bass players.
18.) I have never had a pet.
19.) I think everyone should devote some time to a charity. Here are some of my charities:
Equality Now
Save Darfur
The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research
20.) I once had 4 dates in one day and pulled it off.
21.) I’ve never been on a diet.
22.) I sucked my thumb until I was 6.
23.) My freshman year at Penn State University, we beat Miami to win the National Championship.
24.) I think everyone should have a theme song. Mine is “Make You a Believer” by Sass Jordan.
25.) I was at the Perfect Game that David Wells pitched for the NY Yankees against the Minnesota Twins.
